Everyone enjoys the fun times of summer, spring has plenty of fans, and winter enthusiasts love skiing and holiday celebrations. Yet, there’s something about fall that makes it extra special.
Maybe it’s the cooler evenings, football games, pumpkin-spice everything or the crunch of leaves beneath your feet. But it’s easy to love the respite between the warmest and coldest months.
Here are a few of our favorite tips for enjoying this season to its fullest:
The excuse to have a fire is one of the best things about the end of summer. Whether it’s an old-fashioned campfire or a modern fire pit, it’s a calming activity that brings people together to relax. Once gathered, there’s always a need for good snacks. We love traditional smores, but if you have a fire pit, or just don’t want to make a mess, try making your own no-mess version with adeep dish smores dip. Check out this recipe, shown in the opening photo, and try it out at your next outdoor gathering.
When the weather eventually sends you indoors, get cozy with seating that’s stylish and comfortable. Add a favorite chenille throw, a cup of cocoa, and light a fire!

No matter what your favorite time of year, making time for yourself is always in season. This fall, schedule a little rest and relaxation for yourself and enjoy the restorative benefits of some much-needed downtime.
The average height of Americans has increased. Americans are turning 65 at the highest rate in history. More Americans than ever are working full or part time out of home offices. And, increasingly Americans don’t want to give up style to have comfort.
What do all these trends have in common? They are emerging needs, demographics, lifestyles and tastes that BarcaLounger is addressing with features-and-benefits rich new introductions at the upcoming international Fall High Point Market. At the Furniture Market, retailers from around the nation and world come to see introductions from major brands like BarcaLounger, products that will be seen in stores several months after their debut in High Point, N.C.
“The new product categories that we have developed address growing consumer needs, lifestyles and tastes,” said Larry Smith, president. For example, the Xtra Tall sofa groups and reclining chairs are designed with 45-inch-high backs and footrests that extend 3 inches longer. The goal is to comfortably accommodate people as tall as 6’8″ or 6’9.”
Another need Barcalounger is addressing is the work-from-home lifestyle. The WorkSpace Seating collection offers comfortable and supportive home office chairs.
Another new line, the Lux Recline & Lift, is a collection of reclining and assistant chairs in upscale styling with refined scale, cover selection, tailoring and detail.
Over the next three years, the “graying of America” will happen at the fastest rate in history. “These chairs will enable consumers to transition to assistant chairs with the fashion and comfort they are accustomed to,” said Smith. “They are great-looking recliners with the hidden bonus of an assistant lift feature if needed.”
While the comfort and relaxation offered by reclining chairs has never been more in demand, no one wants to give up style to have the ultimate in comfort. That’s why Barcalounger is introducing the Accents Collection, an offering of decorative and smaller-scaled 3-way push-through-the-arm recliners designed to complement gracious living and family room settings.
Barcalounger is planning to greatly expand its selection of power reclining sofa and modular groups, with 16 introductions, including the Connelly, below.
Making your life easier and better. That’s our mission at Barcalounger, and with these new functional and fashionable introductions set for the Fall High Point Furniture Market, we hope to provide more ways than ever for you to enjoy life’s moments at home.

Casual, comfortable style takes many forms.
There are blue jeans and sweatshirts, there are jeans and a shirt, and then there’s what some call business or ‘dress casual.’ It’s a more refined look, often with layering and details, such as slacks with a button-down shirt and a jacket or vest…set off by just the right accessory.
That ‘dress casual’ look is the vibe for BarcaLounger’snew introductions set for the April High Point Furniture Market.
The looks are refined modern, or traditional with a twist. For instance, the new Radcliffe reclinerand the Ryder reclinerare casual, yet dressed up with rich wood trim and clean lines.
